Catania by night

Walking from the Pescheria  the Sicilian version of an arabic Souk in Catania,  walking around the fountain of the Amenano, "u linzolu" called for the visual effect of the waterfalls,  this is the elegant Duomo square appearing before your eyes!

That's Sicily now....

 This is in Agrigento now! Agrigento's view from the magic Valley of its Temples In Sicily almonds trees are blooming now! So why to change date for the traditional  Almond blossom Festival? Sure! I forgot no money, no sponsors but  Nature doesnt' wait

a surprise in Catania!

 Would you say that this lovely room  stands up above  the ancient Greek-Roman theatre in Catania?? Look down here: the view from one of the balconies in casa Liberti!! Not long time ago,  the owner left her house  (she was a Latin &Greek teacher) and Casa Liberti now is a lovely museum

Orange time?

   It's orange time in Sicily! You can find everywhere also during a guiding tour  in the magic place  of the ancient Greek stonequarries in Siracusa enjoy it!

 Ragusa Ibla almost a timeless atmsphere in a magic silence just my voice talking  about one of the most authentic  Sicilian Baroque beauty to my tourists when a voice on a megaphone shouted  announcing the arrival of fresh fruits and vegetables in just a few seconds some local people in the surroundings appeared around the little cart my tourists run away towards the crowd leaving me at the top of the stairs  taking pictures laughing and I with them the lady you saw in the picture told us  she needed  fresh spinach for her scaccia   so the following question was: Lucia, what is a scaccia?? and in a moment  the magic Baroque was forgotten and we started talking about the magic Sicilian food...  

in the heart of Siracusa: the Latomia of Capucins

So called as it was property of the annexed Capucins' friars convent till 1866 these Latomie (stone quarries) are among the largest and ancient quarries of the Greek Syracuse  a luxury Mediterranean vegetation  into the heart of the modern city today they still show clearly the traces  of the stone blocks extracted for buildings since the VI BC and maybe (Thucidites quotes the episode) they where the tragic prisons  of the thousands of Atheniens soldiers captured after their defeat  (V BC) in the Great Harbour,  not far away from these places
