from the lake to the garden....A Quarara

------------------------------- The Quarara , was a kind of boat, made of iron , that fishermen used for catching reeds, as with its flat shape, was good for the swallow waters of the Biviere lake Today, it has become an original large vas for flowers and plants in the beautiful Borghese garden of Donna Maria Carla.

Religious reflections

.. --------------------------- -------------- Each time  I enter into the Cathedral in Oritgia...I'm amazed! I stay  still wordless...just still beacuse then I need them to describe such a magic place to my tourists: a wonderful book, where  page after page, you can read the story of all Sicily.

You're Sicilian when....

Io, come tanti altri Siculi come me, mi ci ritrovo in pieno....che ne dite? l eggerlo mi ha fatto sorridere.. --------------------------- I received it from a friend and I enjoyed it because it's a faithful portrait of the way we, Siculi, are: at least, I smiled reading it: You are Sicilian when/if  although you are unemplyed and don't have money, you offer coffe to your friends you don't have any job, but you drive around with your luxury car if, although you don't have time, you find it for a smile if, when you meet another Sicilian aroad, you talk to him as a very good old friend if you always complains about your town, but abroad you describe it as one of the seven wonders if you LOVE with passion if you're jelous of the people who are important to you when you "parri cu tutti" ....talk with everybody if you're proud when you talk about Peppino Impastato, Paolo Borsellino and Giovanni Falcone if you meet with your family for the

just two questions...

It's nice when tourists put questions about history, about life ,about everything.... It's nice because ti's a way to interact and I really like if , doing my job I really adore, there's a mutual exchange between me and them... Yesterday I worked with a very nice American family (rare to find a couple  married for more than thirty years and travelling with their child, too) . I had nice time with them and  talked a lot.. Talking about travelling ...He asked me:  (question n. 1) If you were rich, where would you go on holiday...and then where would you live? Later, before saying goodbye, in a very polite way , trying to let me tell him which is the best restaurant in  Siracusa, where I live, He asked me: (question n. 2) Where would you go tonight if this were your last dinner in life?? MAMMA MIA!! MY answers: Question n. 1: I'm so curious about the world that it's hard to choose...but maybe, at the moment, South America and Marocco....and then Japan and Ch
