  I'm still learning, but I try, as much as possible to do (among the thing mentioned above)  as follows: take a bath in absolute silence color with Crayons put on some music and dance create my own coffe break go to a farmer's market find a relaxing scent ..(ROSE) write in a blog read a book cooking watch the see take photographs meander around town forgive give thanks rest my legs up a wall I will rembember when I complain that I need to relax!!!

In the new Sicilian Parliament 7 women  on 12 councelors!!! Never happened before in 66 years!!! The revolution has started.. " chi ben comincia è a metà dell'opera"

home made bread ,made using natural yeast and then baked in a real stone-oven !! Then dress it with homemade olive oil and wild Sicilian origano .    a nice country house, a warming atmospehere, good company and...  good food* at " kilometri zero" . What else?? We forgot the stormy weather outdoor!! *all rigorously planted and cooked by a dear friend of mine... She also built her stone-oven on her own, too!

Eating an arancino on the ferry when you come to Sicily.What else?   This is our WELCOME to all the people coming from the Continent by sea. (Old people still refer to the rest of Italy as the Continent!) This is enough to me to refuse to buil tthe bridge on the Straits.. In the rest of Italy there are different version, not always successful, of the Sicilian arancino. Here the Calabrese version: arancino with 'ntuja *..(quite good) *ntuja is the traditional salmi produced in Calabria, very soft and very spicy made with hot chili pepper. The word ntuja comes from the French Andouille which means sausage Buon appetito! --------------------------------------   Mangiare l'arancino sul traghetto è una tradizione anche per noi Siciliani. It was a big honour to me to meet Maria Sanciolo-Bell ,the President of the Institute of Culture Sicily-Australia, introduced last year     by their vice president Gaetano Failla. My first   impression was as if I had already met her before and I was immediately fascinated   by her   great passion   in everything she does. here with Maria Sanciolo-Bell - ph. courtesy by Gaetano Failla  I met   Maria again , a few days ago here in Siracusa for the opening of the exhibition entitled SPIRIT OF TWO ISLAND. TERRA SICULA- TERRA AUSTRALIS by the Aboriginal visual artist Billy Doolan.. This   exhibition is one of the innumerable projects involving not only arts that Maria is promoting   to connect the two islands, Sicily and Australia which joins her two souls, being a pure Sicilian living in Melbourne. I had the pleasure to guide the vice ambassador of Australia who   was the special guest for the opening last Friday   at the ex Convento del Ritiro in Ortigia on 9 th November

A nice interview to Andrea Camilleri, the inventor of Commissario Montalbano . Here, in the video the writer shows  us his studio where he uses to write every morning , rigorously from 7.00 to 10.30 and then drink his daily pint of beer! He writes on PC but always printing to correct the mistakes that  "the computer hides as it will never admit to be wrong" We discover that at the sides of the door he collects all the translations of his Montalbano on the shelves (35 languages but not yet in Chinese) The most precious book in his room is a small Collection of poems he bought in May 1945 in Rome. He started writing poems and that day in Rome ,in Via Veneto he bought that little book and he found his name among the published poems. He was astonished:they had published "Solo per noi" a little poem he wrote about the after war atmosphere.  He went into a cafè and drank a Cognac,just  looking at his name printed there  for 15 minutes! just read that Franco Battiato ( a unique sicilian artist and writer and poet) accepted to be in charge of the Culture department in the new Sicilian Government. Every social network is sharing this news, well accepted by all Sicilian people. To us it's a great news and hope! my first time on the ferry from Messina to Villa S. Giovanni (on the continent!!!) waiting for the bridge?  The Italian government has postponed the project of the bridge on the Straits of Messina for other two years.  Berlusconi's government had included it as one of the priorities in Italy.  Now,we run the risk of paying a fine of millions of Euro ... Here we are, still with the same old ferries.....in 15 mintes on the other side... I like to sail to the continent...not sure to enjoy the idea of the bridge!

Off-season now!  although with such a wonderful climate and such a beautiful warm sea it could be possible to have a longer tourist season!! we'll come back soon! and we hope with less problems! --------------- Destagionalizzare è possibile con un mare ed un clima invidiabile ancora adesso!...... ..ma la stagione turistica è  più o meno finita.. Torneremo presto! si spera con meno problemi!!
