Young Montalbano on SUNDAY TIMES !

1st September 2013
I'm really very happy about the popularity of the Inspector Mintalbano  these days abroad.
BBC4 is broadcasting now the prequel the Young Montalbano and I hope it will be a great success as well as the Montalbano performed by Luca Zingaretti!
I enjoyed Michele Riondino ( the young Inspector) and the use of  stronger sicilian accent and  of local expressions!
What about the British Tv viewers?will they like him?

Many thanks to the writer Mia Ogden Aimaro I had the honor and pleasure to guide already two years ago around Syracuse and this summer during very hot days into Montalbano places
At the bottom of the page, in the right corner you find my name recommended for the tours  :-)

Many thanks to:
Luca Gurrieri by Dimora di Spartivento in Modica
to Enrico Russino by Gli Aromi in Scicli
to Rita Russotto by the restaurant Satra in Scicli

They all have  helped me to make the journey of Mia the best.

Sicily among the clouds: Ortigia - bird's eye view

six days around Sicily by helicopter this is the strongest emotion to me   flying as a bird above my  marvellous Ortigia unforgettable

The caponata of the Inspector Montalbano... simply sciavurusa!

Yesterday I was at the street market in  my Ortigia and I ate a  wonderful  caponata When  it was served at my table that marvellous vision reminded me the description given by Andea Camilleri in one of the episodes of his popular Inspector: " The moment he opened the refrigerator, he saw it.  Caponata! Fragrant, colourful, abundant, it filled an entire soup dish, enough for at least four people. It had been months since Adelina, his housekeeper, last made it for him. The bread, in its plastic bag, was fresh, bought this morning. The notes of the triumphal march of Aida came spontaneously, naturally, to his lips. Humming, he opened the French windows after turning the light one the veranda. Yes, it was a cool night, but still warm enough to eat outside. He set the little table, brought the dish, the wine, and the bread outside, and sat down " (Excursion to Tindari, Andrea Camilleri) There were three Dutch tourists reading  carefully the menu close to me
