Giorgio Armani in Siracusa and surroundings

The Main of Giorgio Armani is still there, into the blue waters of the Great harbour in Ortigia, the old Siracusa, but the Maestro  went away yesterday!

For some years Armani has been visiting Siracusa every summer; he fell in love with my town, its blue sea, its food, its peopl when  he came the first time ,I think on 2005 and I was honoured to be his guide having the pleasure to tell him about us, Sicilian people.

With great surprise, I discovered  that he had never been in Sicily before, although he used to spend some time in Pantelleria (my favourite sicilian island) in his beautiful dammuso he bought there more than 30 years ago.

I still remember the excitement that day   and how before leaving home I looked myself and realized that I hadn't anything by Armani on!

I usually don't like to have griffes on me ..I really don't care, i simply buy what I like Armani  or not or a very cheap dress...but that day I had a bag by Byblos (a gift from my friends) my watch was by Alviero Martini and my belt by Valentino!

Oh mamma mia ! what to do !!!

I simply changed myself in  a not original Armani style: simple, sober but "di effetto"

It was a wonderful day, with him and his great staff but the hottest day of that summer with about 46 degrees  in Noto and still 36 at night when we visited the Greek theatre in Siracusa

Thank you Maestro..for your compliments when you told me  " your  guide contributed to make me fall in love with Siracusa and Sicily"

Busulmona: like Heaven!

Busulmona : XIXth  century farmhouse, once property of the  Cavaliere Sessa, today run by the family Di Pino. 5 km far from Noto it is immersed in a wonderful almond grove and carobs olives and all the colours of nature   make of this piece of Sicily a true paradise! It works as a B&B at the moment with only two bedroom, but it's also possible to have lunch tasting olive oil and almonds and wathever  what rigorously the family produce and cook for you!  Tranquillity, harmony, genuinity.. this are the things coming to my mind when I was there The name Busulmona , which is the name of all that area, comes from the Arabic and means the land of sun....  an extraordinary view  from the stone terrace on the Val di Noto, from Noto to Vendicari and Marzamemi... . for further information : www.busulmona.com

Back to school!

I'm exausted! In these days students are coming back to school In a book shop I saw this lovely school agenda...( Il Diario ) TO choose the new diario was a nice thing to do with my friends. Everybody, among girls, was curios to see the others' agenda and then, through the school year fill it with drawings, puzzles of photoes, phrases, songs ...and homework (sometimes)  as well. If I were still at school, i think this would be my agenda!!!
