for one afternoon we were thieves of capers......driving between the countyrside from Ragusa to Scicli, we found lots of wild capers' plants coming out from the dried stonewalls along the streets...
We picked a few and following the advise of my man's mother....
we washed them, quicly dried them and put under salt in a glass box..
ready for next winter.....
Gorgeous! Can you pick them anytime in the summer???? I know they turn into flowers if they're not picked, but do they cease being good for picking after they begin to open up even a little bit??? Grazie!
RispondiEliminaciao Jann
RispondiEliminano just now there's not enough time..before they become those lovely white flowers..
you have to pick them very little before opening and turning into flowers....
straight look at the end of the brenches.....
by they end of the month it will be too late..
buona fortuna!!! :-)
