S. Lorenzo, the falling stars and UFO? no again, please, no!.

Donnalucata - Scicli (Rg)


Già da stasera le spiaggie sono prese d'assalto per la notte delle Stelle....
Sarà difficile trovare un angolo tranquillo ed altrettanto difficile veder cadere giù le stelle con una luna piena stupenda...

La notte di S. Lorenzo in spiaggia è diventata un pò troppo comune ..
ma per chi non vuole rinunciarci.....dalle nostre parti ci sono tante possibiità....

Le spiaggie più belle? Da Noto in poi...per S. Lorenzo, Marzamemi, Marza, S. Maria del Focallo,Portopalo..Isola delle Correnti...e poi oltre  Capo Passero verso Marina di Modica,Sampieri, Donnalucata, Marina di Ragusa etc etc etc

Lo scorso anno.....non ho visto alcuna stella cadente , ma giuro che qualcosa nel cielo si muoveva..delle piccole luci che seguivano strane traettorie zig-zag.......Il giorno dopo sui giornali si è parlato di un avvistamnento UFO nei cieli di Donnalucata ..Ancora oggi non si è spiegato quello strano fenomeno!

Da Noto in poi...per S. Lorenzo, Marzamemi, Poropalo..Isola delle Correnti...e poi oltre  Capo Passero verso Marina di Modica,Sampieri, Donnalucata, Marina di Ragusa etc etc etc...

Dove andrò?..ancora non so.....

The seasides are already overcrowded!
Everybody is ready for the night of the falling stars on St. Lorenzo's day.

It will be very hard to find a quiet beach and also it is expected a Full Moon , so there will be too much light to see falling stars!

BUT if you wanna try..in my area there are several places really very nice:
from Noto through St. Lorenzo, Marzamemi, Marza, St. Maria del Focallo, Portopalo, and beyond Cape Passero to Marina di Modica, Donnalucata, Marina di Ragusa  etc etc etc

Last year I couldn'n see any falling star BUT I really saw something strange moving in the dark sky: strange little lights moving in a zig-zag direction!!!
The day after the local newspapers wrote about UFO in Donnalucata..Still now nobody was able to explain what happened!!
Maybe the UFO where also looking for the nicest beach to see the stars!!!!

What about me? I still don't know...

The caponata of the Inspector Montalbano... simply sciavurusa!

Yesterday I was at the street market in  my Ortigia and I ate a  wonderful  caponata When  it was served at my table that marvellous vision reminded me the description given by Andea Camilleri in one of the episodes of his popular Inspector: " The moment he opened the refrigerator, he saw it.  Caponata! Fragrant, colourful, abundant, it filled an entire soup dish, enough for at least four people. It had been months since Adelina, his housekeeper, last made it for him. The bread, in its plastic bag, was fresh, bought this morning. The notes of the triumphal march of Aida came spontaneously, naturally, to his lips. Humming, he opened the French windows after turning the light one the veranda. Yes, it was a cool night, but still warm enough to eat outside. He set the little table, brought the dish, the wine, and the bread outside, and sat down " (Excursion to Tindari, Andrea Camilleri) There were three Dutch tourists reading  carefully the menu close to me
