False Sicilian ?

Agathé
A great event during the feast dedicated to St. Agata in Catania, in these days!
On the occasion of the exibition dedicated to Modigliani, the Italian maudì painter, a portrait of Agata, never seen before attributed to Modigliani (1919), has been the attraction of the event.
it was found by a collectionist amd for years kept folded, attached to a letter.

It could be a present to Catania, which , anyway, was never visited by Modigliani, but where the brothers of him stayed for a while.

Only one article, by the Osservatorio Romano newspaper, have some doubts about its authenticity.
A neverending curtigghiu = gossip raised.

The great idea that the local representative of the Tourist and Cultural department ( Mariella Ferrera = a famous Italian fashion stylist):
Next Sunday, February 13th all the students of the Academy of Arts in Catania will meet at Castello Ursino square to paint their own most beautiful "false" Agata!!!!!

Great! that's Sicilian originality!!!
