Cose da turisti...

There's a place in Scicli you MUST visit: CHIAFURE

- it's an old quarter not far from St. Bartolomeo's church that through the centuries was transformed from a necropolis into a village carved into the rock and inhabitated till 1950's..
I had the idea to show it to my sisters a few days ago.But we arrived later and the heat was unbearable!
Chiafure it's a pictureque area but you need to walk on very steep little roads..
Then, why not to ask a lift to the fruitseller?
He thought we were tourists (why not?). So my sister asked him and we came back home satisfied and with a chilo of fresh and juicy peaches as a present!

my camera was not charged enough..so sorry no pictures!
they'll come after the next excursions..

  1. Lucia, I love that area of Scicli and often meander around there. But I've never thought of getting a lift from a fruitseller. I'll try it next time! Thanks for the idea. xxxxxxxxx

Busulmona: like Heaven!

Busulmona : XIXth  century farmhouse, once property of the  Cavaliere Sessa, today run by the family Di Pino. 5 km far from Noto it is immersed in a wonderful almond grove and carobs olives and all the colours of nature   make of this piece of Sicily a true paradise! It works as a B&B at the moment with only two bedroom, but it's also possible to have lunch tasting olive oil and almonds and wathever  what rigorously the family produce and cook for you!  Tranquillity, harmony, genuinity.. this are the things coming to my mind when I was there The name Busulmona , which is the name of all that area, comes from the Arabic and means the land of sun....  an extraordinary view  from the stone terrace on the Val di Noto, from Noto to Vendicari and Marzamemi... . for further information : www.busulmona.com
