False Sicilian ?

Agathé A great event during the feast dedicated to St. Agata in Catania, in these days! On the occasion of the exibition dedicated to Modigliani, the Italian maudì painter, a portrait of Agata, never seen before attributed to Modigliani (1919), has been the attraction of the event. it was found by a collectionist amd for years kept folded, attached to a letter. It could be a present to Catania, which , anyway, was never visited by Modigliani, but where the brothers of him stayed for a while. Only one article, by the Osservatorio Romano newspaper, have some doubts about its authenticity. A neverending curtigghiu = gossip raised. The great idea that the local representative of the Tourist and Cultural department ( Mariella Ferrera = a famous Italian fashion stylist): Next Sunday, February 13th all the students of the Academy of Arts in Catania will meet at Castello Ursino square to paint their own most beautiful "false" Agata!!!!! Great! that's Sicilian origi...

Catania:between the sacred and profane. . .

A nice afternoon between sacred and profane One hour driving from Siracusa and we were in the wonderful Castle Ursino in Catania for MOdigliani exibition...   nice walking, meeting other friends...and then in perfect but wrong Sicilian style, we parked the car on second line..... just to have a look..a quick look, we said.. these days from 3th February Catania is celebrating her patron Saint S. Agata..... we did some pictures, we looked around fully forgetting about our car..... others horning reminded us...... sorry!!!! "but just for a minute!!!" (this is the common sentence people tell me when I'm waiting someone parking just behind my car on a second line! I HATE  IT!) we did..we said... sorry!

What's the best?

To me catania is the city of my universitary studies..here the beautiful courtyard of the Palazzo Università (XV century)..very close to Piazza Duomo, today a pedestrian area closed to traffic! il mio tour è iniziato dalla zona di piazza stesicoro dove affiorano i resti di un anfiteatro in pietra lavica, tra i più grandi in Sicilia,...poi per via M...
