   Yesterday just in time in Noto to see the silver urn  leaving th Cathedral  during the procession of St Conrad* the patron -saint there   my Korean tourists where excited and said "we just saw this kind of things in the movies" I was happy to show them true moments of devotion * it takes place four times a year,twice i february and twice in August

one of my favourite Baroque churches is St. Joseph in Ragusa Ibla There some nuns pray all day long according to the rule of the Adorazione Perpetua! It's also possible to visit an interesting exhibition about Benedectine nuns at their  monastery.

In Scicli, driving back the area of St. Bartolomeo, on the left, uphill there's a little grotto, used as a little church which is so nice and evokative,too! I don't know the name of it..somebody can help me? At Crhistmas time a little Presepe makes this place more charming... --------------------  A Scicli, nella zona della Chiesa di S. Bartolomeo, (l'area dietro la chiesa)...c'è una piccola grotta, adibita a chiesetta..davvero piccola, semplice e carina. Non ne conosco il nome? qualcuno potrebbe aiutarmi?? Nel periodo natalizio potete trovarvi anche un piccolo Presepe

Today St. Lucia , with another procession at the presence of Lucia from Sweden, will be back home, from the Sepolcro to the Duomo in Ortigia....

Ogni volta, entrare in Cattedrale ad Ortigia, è un incanto! Resto quasi senza parole.."quasi" semplicemente perchè poi  devo raccontare questo luogo magnifico ad i miei turisti.... Un libro stupendo, da leggere pagina dopo pagina, sulla storia della Sicilia. .. --------------------------- -------------- Each time  I enter into the Cathedral in Oritgia...I'm amazed! I stay  still wordless...just still beacuse then I need them to describe such a magic place to my tourists: a wonderful book, where  page after page, you can read the story of all Sicily.

 C'è chi va e chi viene.. Poche settimane fa Il S. Giorgio di Modica è rientrato dopo i festeggiamenti, mentre a Scicli La Madonna delle Milizie (L'unica Madonna a cavallo) è già pronta per le celebrazioni in atto in qualità di santa patrona. Nel 1091 La Madonna guerriera apparve al fianco di Ruggero il Normanno in una delle battaglie più temute contro i Saraceni. sulla costa sciclitana! Tante le iniziative a Scicli nella  settimana in corso...tra sacro e profano.! Ad esempio: Sabato notte sarà  "La notte dei Milici". ------------------------------- Who goes , who comes... Santa lucia delle Quaglie St. Lucia of quails Ancora un giorno e S. Lucia lascerà S. Lucia alla Badia (impossibile fotografare la statua perchè sullo sfondo si trova il quadro siracusano del  Caravaggio). alle 19.00 domani inizierà la processione che riporterà il simulacro di Lucia nella sua cappella al Duomo....gesolasemte chiusa e non visibile fino alla prossima ricorrenza... Questa è una domanda frequente che i turisti ci rivolgono....cosa dire, cosa rispondere? E' tradizione? Sicurezza? non ha importanza..è così e basta! ed in questo modo la festa è anche più sentita...... Il simulacro rientrerà verso le 21.00 ! In giro, all'interno della cattedrale ci sono gli stemmi di città, le candelore ed i supporti per i portatori di S.
